How to export Klaviyo Stats to Google Sheets?
Do you want to export Klaviyo statistics to Google Sheets? So, you can pivot your data easily and get more customised insights.
In this article, we will cover how to export Klaviyo data without any loss.
Do you need to export data?
We need to ask this question first. Klaviyo gives so much great insight under their "Dashboard" section. My initial suggestion is to check this section to assess whether is this section answers most of your questions not.
You can check the below article about creating and customising Klaviyo Analytics Dashboards before proceeding.
If you check the above article and still think to export Klaviyo stats to Google Sheets then, let's start the process.
Check these before the export
Don't forget to export 2 sections separately:
- Campaigns
- Flows
And choose the appropriate metrics before the export by following these steps:
- Click any sent campaigns to see the details. Click the metric name where the right side of the star icon to open the metric dropdown and select the appropriate metrics to export.
- Follow the same procedure for one flow detail. (It'll be the same for all flow details after you choose the conversion metric for one)
How to Export Klaviyo Campaign Data to Google Sheets?
Step 1: Open the "Export Analytics" Popup
I assume that you are already in the campaign tab. You should see the options button on the top-right page. Click that button (drop-down) and select "Export Analytics"
Step 2: Select Time Range
If this is the first export then, I suggest exporting "All Sent Campaigns". After your initial exports, you can export the last x days to fasten the process. (If you are exporting the data every week then, it'll be better to choose the last 7 days)
Step 3: Other configurations
We have 3 more configurations to choose from before the export:
- Tags: Would you like to export the analytics data only for a specific tag(s)? Then select them here.
- Email/SMS: Klaviyo may send an email and/or SMS to your database. You have the option to export both email and SMS stats but, you need to export once for each.
- A/B email variations: Do you like experimenting and would like to analyse the results? Then, select this option.
Step 4: Copy the content to Google Sheets
Now, you have the data you need but, in the CSV format.
- First, create the blank Google Sheets by clicking this URL: spreadsheet.new
- Then, open the downloaded file and copy the content to this new Google Sheets. be sure that the column names are placed in the first row.
Note: Please right-click → Paste special → Values only to properly copy of data in the Excel file.
Congratulations! You should have the Google Sheets that contains these columns.
How to Export Klaviyo Flow Data to Google Sheets?
Step 1: Click the "Export Analytics" Button
There is no popup that will be appeared in the flow section. Just click this button to open the popup.
Step 2: Select Time Range
If this is the first export then, I suggest exporting "A--Time". After your initial exports, you can export the last x days to fasten the process. (If you are exporting the data every week then, it'll be better to choose the last 7 days)
Step 3: Aggregation
This is the most characteristic part of flows. We need to aggregate stats by day, week or month. Because, flows are active for many days, not just send once like campaigns.
Step 4: Other configurations
We have 3 more configurations to choose from before the export:
- Tags: Would you like to export the analytics data only for a specific tag(s)? Then select them here.
- A/B email variations: Do you like experimenting and would like to analyse the results? Then, select this option.
Step 4: Copy the content to Google Sheets
You may wait longer than exporting campaigns since every flow has daily data. After the green progress bar is full then, you have the data you need in the CSV format.
Let's convert this CSV file by following these steps:
- We'll use the same Google Sheets file that we created for the Campaigns above. Please create a new tab in the Sheets.
- Then, open the downloaded file and copy the content to this Google Sheets.
Note: Please right-click → Paste special → Values only to properly copy of data in the Excel file.
Congratulations! You should have the Google Sheets that contains these columns.
How to update sheets?
You can export Klaviyo data and simply paste them to the bottom of the existing data source of Google Sheets.
Then, navigate back to the Google Data Studio dashboard. Click the refresh on the top-right menu.
